2025 FALL SEASON
JUST LIKE US

Just Like Us is a gripping, non-fiction play inspired by Helen Thorpe’s bestselling book. It follows four Latina teenage girls whose close-knit friendship is tested by the realities of immigration status—and the opportunities or barriers it creates.
Set in Denver, the story follows Clara and Elissa, who hold legal documents, while Yadira and Marisela do not. As they navigate high school and work toward college, they confront the stark differences in their paths. Student loans are not an option without a Social Security number, and when deportation looms over their families, even a dorm room may not provide refuge.
A true coming-of-age story, Just Like Us raises urgent and essential questions about identity, opportunity, and what it truly means to be American. More timely than ever, this powerful play is a must-see.

The Latino Theater Company (LTC) celebrates 40 years of commitment to the creation of exciting, thought-provoking theater in Los Angeles. In 2005 the Latino Theater Company embarked on a new vision to establish a cultural arts center in Downtown Los Angeles. Since re-opening in 2007, the LTC has produced critically acclaimed seasons that reflect the diversity of Los Angeles. LATC season programming has consistently been recommended by critics and audiences alike, with shows garnering many L.A. About the Impact Initiative
The Latino Theater Company’s IMPACT Initiative is an arts engagement program for students currently enrolled at 19 community colleges across Los Angeles County. The program provides free access to live performances, master classes and post-show discussions with artists at The Los Angeles Theatre Center. IMPACT is designed to connect community college students with powerful theatrical works that reflect their experiences, amplify their voices, and to invite them into the city’s broader artistic and social conversations. Through this initiative, the Latino Theater Company fosters a culturally connected and civically engaged generation of students. August 29 marks the fourth production presented through the IMPACT Initiative. Participating students receive a full subscription to all Latino Theater Company productions throughout the season.
